Our3Q – Klongdinsor, Thailand

Chatchai- the owner of the Klongdinsor Company which started its operations in Thailand with creating a unique product that enables blind children to draw. The product is relatively cheap and simple; it consists of yarn, a tool which yarn can be wound on, and a board with a rough surface which yarn is attached to. Currently, the company also organizes various kinds of programmes for large enterprises and events in a city, aiming, on the one hand, at integrating blind people into the society, on the other, at educating the society about the needs of blind people.

Q1: What do you appreciate yourself in the business mainly for?

For the continuous development of the idea. We started with one product enabling blind children to draw. Over time, we added new elements aimed at general raising the public awareness on the existence and needs of blind people. In order to strengthen those people, we help them to look for a job, we teach them independence and functioning in the community.

Q2: What is the biggest challenge/ obstacle for you now?

We perform a lot of different activities, and we have only three people in our team. For the coming year we have already signed cooperation agreements with three large companies which want to hire blind people and educate their workers employed so far. We need a separate strategy tailored to the needs of each of them individually. In addition, we want to continue other activities, such as organizing road running for the blind, the sale of our product for drawing for blind children (also abroad), as well as the broad educational activities.

Q3: What will help you to be successful?

To set priorities and not to take any more orders. It is more important to do well what we have already had than dealing with other issues which we will not be able to handle reasonably well. We also want to include more and more volunteers, especially, in organizing road running for the blind.

The questions were asked on our behalf by Anna and Andrea from How to (ex) change the world.
